Grand Canyon 1

part one: north rim

Day One: we arrived at the north rim in a nice place in the woods.

(The only drawback was that we were an hour away from the park.)

After dinner my dad went to check the fire regulations, to see if we could have a fire.

When he came back my brother started the fire.

Nothing else really happened that day.

Day Two: we woke up early to get to the park.

Once we got there we walked to the visitor center so we could get our Junior ranger books,

and a trail map.

Then we went on the scenic drive,

we drove a long way to the end.  we ate lunch at the end.

After lunch we looked at the overlook then drove back.

On the way back we stopped at every overlook,

and if there was a short hike we would do it.

Then we went home.

Day Three: we got up early again so we could do a hike.

The hike was 4 miles total, it went to an old lookout tower.

The hike was uphill most of the way.

When we got closer to the top,

we saw a ton of baby horned lizards!

They were SO cute!

When we finally reached the top, we saw the fire lookout tower.

It was so tall.  We all started climbing the stairs except for my mom.

It was really scary at the top.

We came back down then walk back to the car,

we saw a lot more baby lizards too.

When we got back to the car, we drove to find a pick-nick spot.

Then we got our junior ranger badges and moseyed around.

Day Four: We packed up our campsite then drove to the south rim...
